Abstract: In this presentation, we will answer the question: what is the q-th Fibonacci number, where q is a positive rational number? The answer is the codenominator function which is defined via a system of functional equations. Many Fibonacci identities can be generalized to this function and it is related to the involution "jimm" of the real line induced by the outer automorphism of PGL(2,Z).
